Trend 1: Drop Waist Wedding Dresses

The first wedding dress trend we saw across many designer showrooms and runways at New York Bridal Fashion Week was drop waist wedding dresses. The top wedding dress designers are getting even more creative with the waistline on their wedding dresses and dropping them down to the bottom of the hips, really accentuating a bride's torso. This style is also a great option for brides planning destination weddings or those looking for a bridal outfit that is a little more unconventional. If brides are looking for a wedding dress that combines high-fashion, designer style with a fresh look, a drop waist bridal dress may just be your perfect match.

Trend 2: Basque Waist Wedding Dresses

Basque waistline wedding dresses have been trending for a few bridal seasons, but new this year to the trend is really accentuating the corset tie to bring the whole dress together. The wedding dress designers that we was at New York Bridal Fashion week this year even got creative with removable corset elements for a 2-in-1 convertible wedding dress, which if you're thinking about changing your bridal look from ceremony to reception a new trendy basque waist could be an easy option for brides looking for an effortless wedding day second look.

If you’re drawn to a bridal look that combines timeless elegance with a modern twist, a basque style waistline bridal dress with corset detailing is an ideal choice. Whether you prefer a structured, dramatic effect or a more relaxed, convertible bridal gown, this new bridal trend offers something for every bride who wants to make a statement on their wedding day.

Trend 3: Floral Detail Wedding Dresses

Floral detailing is likely to always be trending in bridal fashion but designers at this year's New York Bridal Fashion week took this trend to new limits with bold floral elements and textural designs. Floral detailing is a staple in bridal fashion, but this year, the top bridal dress designers pushed the boundaries of this beloved trend to new heights, introducing bold, sculptural florals and intricate textural designs that elevate the entire bridal look. From oversized blooms to delicate embroidered petals, floral wedding dresses made a dramatic and romantic, ultra feminine statement on the runway at New York Bridal Fashion Week.

Trend 4: Bridal Mini Dresses

Bridal fashion trend number four that we spotted at New York Bridal Fashion Week is another trend that has been growing over the last few years and that trend is bridal mini or short dresses. Many bridal designers are adding chic and playful mini dresses to their bridal dress collections that are perfect for wedding receptions and after parties and even all the pre-wedding events that brides want to dress up for, like their bridal shower and rehearsal dinner.

Mini dresses with fun sparkle details, beads, or feather accents, unique straps like one shoulder or halter necklines or super short hemlines are especially ideal for brides who want to wear something unexpected - but also unforgettable - for their wedding reception or after-party - a chance to let loose and enjoy the celebration without being weighed down by a heavy gown.

Trend 5: Pearl Wedding Dresses

While some may say that pearls are bad luck on wedding day, bridal designers this year are throwing caution to the wind and embracing pearls and using pearl detailing in many of their new and trendy wedding dress designs. Pearl accents added a romantic and feminine touch to many new bridal dress designs that we spotted at New York Bridal Fashion Week. Far from being a wedding superstition, pearls are making a major comeback, adding a romantic, refined, and undeniably feminine touch to the new trending wedding dresses from the top designers this year.

Whether used as delicate accents on the sleeves or around the necklines, or as the star of the show, all over the wedding dresses, pearls are top wedding dress trend, and have become one of the most coveted embellishments for modern brides seeking a blend of tradition and contemporary elegance.

Trend 6: Wedding Dresses with Slits

The next wedding dress trend that we spotted on the runways at this year's New York Bridal Fashion Week will not be for all brides, but for brides who want a dramatic leg moment or a fun moment to show off their bridal shoes, you are in luck! Wedding dresses with slits were everywhere on the runways this season. This bridal season, the top wedding dress designers incorporated slits into their bridal collections in ways that are both chic and modern, offering a variety of styles to suit different bridal personalities.

From high, thigh-high slits to more modest side slits, the options are endless for brides who want to add a little extra flair to their wedding gown and still be on trend. These slits weren’t just functional - they were designed to create an elegant flow, often paired with voluminous skirts or sleek, fitted silhouettes for contrast.

Trend 7: Draped Fabric Wedding Dresses

One of the most exciting new bridal fashion trends we saw on the recent runways is draped fabrics. Wedding dress designers were manipulating fabrics in really interesting and creative ways for dramatic and timeless designs. Think lots of ruching and pleating and textural design elements in these new and trending wedding dress styles where the fabric was sewn in unique, unexpected ways that created a "wow" factor element coming down the runway - that would be perfect coming down any aisle too!

Draped fabrics were featured in a variety of styles, from sleek, body-hugging bridal gowns that would be perfect for an elegant traditional style bride, to flowing, ethereal wedding dress designs that would be perfect for a boho festival style bride. What makes this top wedding dress trend so captivating is how the bridal designers designers used fabric techniques like ruching, pleating, layers and twisting to create depth and dimension. The fabric almost seemed to have a life of its own, cascading gracefully and adding an element of surprise with its intricate folds and lines. Our favorite part of the draped fabric wedding dresses is that the draping element on bridal dresses is that it brings a sense of couture craftsmanship, where brides can't help but feel special.

Trend 8: High Neckline Wedding Dresses

And the last - but not least - bridal fashion trend that we spotted at New York Bridal Fashion Week this year that we can't wait to see on our brides coming down the aisle is high neckline wedding dresses. Strapless and off the shoulder silhouettes have been very popular, and will likely always be popular among brides, but we are excited for more and newer bridal dress neckline options. From classic boat neck style dresses to halter necklines, high neckline dresses were seen across many of our favorite bridal dress designers - and we are here for it!

Brides have all different body types, sizes and shapes, as we have talked about so much here at Lovella, and having more neckline options in wedding dresses is something that our brides have been asking for for many years now. Not all brides fit in a more traditional style wedding dress and we are happy to see unique necklines and shapes that flatter even more body shapes be on trend in the newer wedding dress designs that are available to brides to be shopping for their dream wedding dress.
