Calling all our fashion-forward brides! If you’re dreaming of a designer wedding gown and love staying ahead of the bridal style curve, you’re in for something special. Our Lovella Bridal team—alongside our trusted Wedding Fashion Expert—just returned from New York Bridal Fashion Week, where we had an exclusive first look at the Spring 2026 bridal collections from the industry’s most celebrated designers.
Every April and October, we travel to NYC for this can’t-miss event to preview upcoming collections and handpick the most stunning gowns to bring back to our Los Angeles boutique. It’s a behind-the-scenes experience that allows us to stay at the forefront of bridal fashion and offer our brides only the very best.
Keep in mind, these fresh-off-the-runway gowns won’t be arriving in stores for another 6 to 8 months—but that doesn’t mean you can’t start gathering inspiration now. Your bridal stylist may be able to help you find a similar silhouette or detail from current collections that captures the essence of the trend you’re loving.

If you are a 2026 or 2027 bride shopping for your wedding dress, you won't want to miss our recap featuring the top 8 wedding dress trends spotted at New York Bridal Fashion Week. We're featuring all of the best new wedding dress designs from top bridal designers for their spring and summer 2026 collections.
Trend 1: Dramatic Ball Gowns
This is the season and the era of the ball gown! A ball gown silhouette is always going to be classic for bridal fashion - who doesn’t want to feel like a princess on their wedding day?! The ball gown style is an easy way to elevate a wedding dress and make it feel truly “bridal” as opposed to an elegant evening gown. Every designer runway show we attended at the spring bridal fashion week had multiple ball gowns in their new collections and were really bringing the drama! From dramatic Basque waist and drop waist style ball gowns to sparkle and beaded ball gowns to even traditional lace ball gowns and ball gowns with long dress trains, we saw it all on the runways and can’t wait to help our ball gown brides shop this trending style.
Trend 2: Exposed Corsets
The next trend we saw across many designer’s new bridal dress collections is exposed corsets. Corset bodice wedding gowns have long been popular with bridal designers, but the new design element for this season is exposed corsets or the corset bodice looking like they are separate from the dress skirt.
In addition to the mock two piece look, we did see one designer, Ines Di Santo, show a bridal look that was two separate pieces so you could mix and match the corset bodice top with different wedding dress skirts to truly personalize your bridal look.
Trend 3: Basque Waists
Trend number three is Basque waistlines and this trend has only been gaining popularity in the last few seasons of bridal fashion. Whether it’s a fitted dress or a ball gown style, Basque waistlines are seen across many of the designers that we carry at Lovella. The Basque waistline gives a very defined “v” in the hips area so it’s very flattering on brides.
Many of the bridal collections that we got to see had elements of trend 2 and 3 combined, so you would have that exposed corset look with a Basque waist and it’s a very elegant bridal look.
Trend 4: Dramatic Drop Waists
The next trend we saw at spring bridal fashion week is another design element that has been growing over the last couple of bridal fashion seasons and that is dramatic drop waists. This takes our trend 3 of Basque waistlines and pushes the boundaries even further. A Basque waist is a little dropped from your natural waistline and goes down into that “v” shape, but designers are pushing the limits with very dramatic dropped waistlines even lower than that.
A dropped waist gives brides an elegant, elongated figure and is very popular with ball gown style dresses but we also saw this trend in more fitted gowns as well.
Trend 5: Full Skirts
The next trend we saw across many of our favorite bridal designers is wedding dresses with full skirts. We discussed ball gown wedding dresses earlier as a popular trend, but separate from that trend is more fitted gowns with dramatic skirts. So think a mermaid style or fit to flare wedding dress with a big skirt or very long train. If a ballgown is not your style, you might want to try a more fitted gown with a full skirt to take advantage of this trend. It’s all about the drama this season with silhouettes!
