Katherine Kallinis and Sophie LaMontagne are the sister duo behind Georgetown Cupcake, a DC-based bakery chronicled on TLC’s reality show DC Cupcakes. Katherine married recently in Montecito, California, and in a twist of unexpected circumstances Lovella Bridal was (happily) involved in the celebration.
We must say, Lovella Bridal by Ines Di Santo saved the day! Months before the wedding the bridal gown was selected, but Mommy, Katherine and Sophie’s mom, had a blue and yellow floral sundress number selected as her mother of the bride frock. If you saw the special air Friday you may recall the daughters’ shared horror at the sight of their mother’s gown; even the word “moo moo” was mentioned! Needless to say, the trio came to our salon nearly two months before the wedding desperate for a fabulous gown for a fabulous mom.
Without Ines Di Santo’s magic touch this wouldn’t have been possible. Mommy stunned at the wedding in a sheath dress with a scoop neckline and overlaid in Chantilly lace. The navy number also featured subtle beading throughout and organza petals at the skirt’s hem. In fact, Katherine and Sophie joked that Mommy pulled a Pippa Middleton and stole the show!
We were beyond delighted to be a part of this gorgeous event. A big “thanks” goes to Katherine, Sophie and Mommy for allowing Lovella to be a part of their big day. Enjoy the photos below, most of which were taken by Elizabeth Messina (and check out those shoes). We also snapped a few, especially of the cupcake tower which was the most exquisite confection we’ve ever seen.
