This is Part 2 in our Summer Beauty series. In Part 1 we highlighted some delightful summer cosmetic must-haves for the bride, whether on her wedding day or honeymoon, or any makeup-loving woman.

Hopefully we inspired you to refresh your summer beauty product collection! Now we have an interview with Mariah of Mariah Nicole Makeup & Hair Artistry to share. We are always so happy to chat with Mariah, and she always has awesome beauty tips to share.

Of course, a special thanks goes to Mariah for taking time for sharing with us a few tips for summer makeup success. Enjoy!

LB Warmer weather is approaching! What are your suggestions to keep makeup intact on a hot wedding day?

MN: Hot weather can make your makeup slip off your face. Fight back by wearing a full coverage powder foundation that is water-resistant, like Jane Iredale pressed powders. Or, go for airbrush makeup that lasts all day. You may also want to avoid the use of too many creams under your makeup, which can also cause it to slip later.

LBWhat makeup color is HOT for summer weddings this year?

MN: This year it’s all about color and gold! Most major cosmetic lines are pushing eyeshadows in vibrant purples, greens, blues and pinks. Gold is (a) great choice for the bride who wants a neutral tone but wants her eyes to shine.

LBA bride should pack a few essentials in her clutch for the wedding reception. What should she have handy?

MN: A bride’s clutch is usually carried by her maid/matron of honor, and should include essentials such as mints, floss, tissues, solid perfume, lip gloss and a touch-up powder.

LBWhat are some excellent wallet-friendly makeup products (weddings aside)?

MN: We can’t always have designer makeup, so choose L’Oreal or Rimmel London for mascara. L’Oreal’s HIP eyeshadows come in vivid shades and are long-lasting. (Also) try Rosebud Lip Balm daytime lip care.

LBLast time you named Makeup For Ever Aqua Liner pencils, MAC’s Pro Longwear Lipcolour and Jane Iredale mineral powders as your must-have products. Any others to add to the list this time around?

MN: I have fallen IN LOVE with Stila’s Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD Beauty Balm. Although only in one shade, it magically hydrates, brightens and perfects multiple skin tones. I love the texture (and) it leaves the skin so supple. It can be used with with concealer and bronzer or used as a makeup primer. And it is HD approved!

LBWhat hair trends are you seeing now in the world of weddings?

MN: Brides still prefer messy side buns or their hair down and wavy, but the biggest trend I see is having two hair styles. More and more brides are asking for a “ceremony look” and a “reception look”. They may or may not correspond with a makeup and dress change, too.
