Our exclusive Bridal Market coverage continues with Matthew Christopher’s runway show. (If you missed photos from the our Kenneth Pool private viewing or Alvina Valenta runway show, click here.) The designer’s 2015 “Inspiration” Collection didn’t disappoint. Each gown was mid-century inspired with a heavy dose of glamour. We saw architectural wonders with low-backs, shimmery fabrics and texture… lots of texture. One each model was a ‘60s look: carefully coiffed hair (more on that here), bold pink lips and cat-eye liner. Enjoy these exclusive images from the runway show. Our exclusive Bridal Market coverage continues today with Alvina Valenta’s runway show. (If you missed photos from the our Maria Elena Headpieces or Kenneth Pool private viewings, click here.) This time around we were excited by the magical touch on the classic Alvina Valenta designs we’re accustomed to. For this collection, the models strutted down the runway in gowns with a major twist; back drama galore, with details of crystal strands draped on shoulders and backs. All romantic, all fluid, all still lovely; Jessica Williams did a remarkable job with this collection. Enjoy these exclusive images of the Spring 2015 Collection. We’re rolling out exclusive Bridal Market coverage beginning with Ines Di Santo’s exquisite runway show. This collection was truly her best yet! This fresh, fashionable and fabulous Fall/Winter 2015 Couture Collection is inspired by the purity of winter. From the designer’s official statement about the designs: “Lace appliques, pearl detailing and architectural beading create depth while underlays in embroidered tulle, organza and English netting build volume among Peau De Soie and double-faced silk gowns. The color palate ranges from ethereal white and ivory to cameo pink, champagne and petal.” Per usual, Ines showed one of the most dynamic collections we view each year. Historically and consistently, she goes from ball gowns to slinky sexy silhouettes. She integrated many geometric designs and embroideries in this collection. Our ultimate favorite trend on this runway was the over skirts! We absolutely love the dynamic use and added level of drama a detachable skirt creates for […]
As noted in our last post, in 2013 we attended both semi-annual bridal fashion weeks in New York City. This time around, however, we took a pass — but admired from afar. We shared photos from Ines Di Santo’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, and this time we again consulted The Knot, with photos by Kurt Wilberding, to share with you the Kenneth Pool Spring 2015 Collection. Head designer Amsale Aberra’s streamlined 10-piece collection is one of great illusions, with each gown presenting an alluring front with a surprise in the back. WWD said of the collection: “Aberra targeted the sexy bride… The silhouettes were seductive, many in mermaid shapes and with daring low backs.” Described The Knot: “Stepping away from the bold, dramatic aesthetic of previous seasons, instead balancing form-fitting shapes and daring low backs with romantic touches.” We’ve also squeezed in a few Instagram-captured runway images; credits are below each […]
These photos from Jessica Claire make us want to pack our bags for Palm Springs pronto. When were approached by Palm Springs Wed by Palm Springs Style to offer two gowns for this punchy California desert shoot, there was no hesitation in saying “Yes!” The first dress you see below is by Rivini, the second (further down) by Martina Liana. Both dresses feature gorgeous sleeve detail, and are flowing, effortless and stylish — much like Palm Springs itself. Also, both dresses are available at Lovella Bridal. The desert and cool hotel serves as this fashion shoot’s backdrop, punctuated with punchy florals, bold prints and gold and vintage details, complete with plenty of smiles and an amazing sunset (to boot). If you’re a bride and love the Rivini gown below, what with its ethereal yet simple luxurious quality, magnificent neck detail, and undeniable back drama, consider yourself lucky! We’re hosting a […]
