Bridal Fashion Week Fall 2013: Rivini by Rita Vinieris Fashion Show

After this, only one post remains chronicling our bridal market coverage. It’s been fun! The Rivini by Rita Vinieris Fall 2014 Collection was inspired by Venice. More specifically, “the beautiful harmony of the gentle gothic architecture reflecting on the shimmering waters,” according to the Collection’s official statement. The tone was undoubtedly set when the show opened with two brides, one in a jumpsuit, one in a dress, holding hands. The statement made the news for sure, but to us it was a simple proclamation that love is universal and equal. This collection was full of sweet feminine, fashion-forward shimmering drama. Our favorite part was the jumpsuits. Wedding fashion specialist and expert Nayri: “We picked up the very first look that comes out with the embroidered top (below). It is such PERFECTION! Rita’s the only one we saw do multiple jumpsuits, and it was love at first sight. A jumpsuit is […]

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge’s Hair Inspiration

She may be the most admired woman in the world. Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge (or Kate Middleton, as so many people still call her), has made many appearances and visits under the watchful eye of photographers all over the world. While it’s hard not to admire her wardrobe of designer apparel, her carefully-coifed hair is often the highlight of an appearance. Catherine’s hair stylist, Rosanno Ferretti, revealed recently that the secret product behind the Duchess’ tresses is Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Oil. While a 5 oz. bottle costs $69, it may be worth the splurge for a bride (and her ‘maids) on her big day. Here we share some of our favorite bridal-worthy looks from Catherine; many of our picks are of her now-signature semi-chignon (replicate her look here). Go ahead, Pin a few of your favorites and get inspired!   (Above) April 29, 2011: For her wedding […]

Nicole, Wearing Rivini and Maria Elena, Marries Luke in Orange County

Nicole and Luke’s wedding was so lovely, that it is featured in Ceremony Magazine. The couple married at Rancho Las Lomas in scenic Orange County. Guests were “greeted by tigers, antique Model A Fords, rustic barns, orchards and Spanish architecture,” shared their videographer. Scroll down to see the couple’s adorable wedding video. “The stunning venue fell to a distant second when this beautiful couple stepped into frame,” Josh of Rain Studios continued. Indeed, the couple looked fabulous for their walk(s) down the aisle. Nicole wore a dreamy Rivini gown from our salon, which perfectly accentuated her waist and featured a flattering sweetheart neckline and artfully pleated skirt. We love, love, love how she wore her Maria Elena Headpieces rosary, also from Lovella, as a necklace. She kept her long hair down, and carried a classic white bouquet. Overall, a sensational look. We’ll let the photos by Chris and Kristen Photography […]

Teny, in Flattering Ines Di Santo Dress, Marries Arlen

Lovella bride Teny, we’re convinced, was made to wear this Ines Di Santo dress from our salon! It featured hand made ruched taffeta flowers with accents of embellishment at the bust, on the lower thigh, and at the skirt’s bottom. Her look was made complete with nude Prada shoes, a fingertip butterfly veil with satin edging from our salon, and minimal jewelry.  Teny and Arlen married in Pasadena; there are so many smiles in the wedding photos from Rene Zadori Photography below. As for the bridal party, the bridesmaids wore long, dark blue dresses (with the maid of honor in her own style and color), and the groomsmen all looked dapper in black suits with gold vests and ties. Their reception space at Geragos Hall was spotted in chic ivory centerpieces made of hydrangeas and roses. A towering six-tier Rafi’s Pastry cake was another highlight; it featured blue satin met […]

Hair Trend: Chignons

A chignon is a popular pick for a bride seeking a classic, tailored hairstyle on her wedding day. The word chignon comes from the French phrase “chignon du cou,” which means nape of the neck (source). Though there are numerous variances of chignons, our favorite is hair gathered right at or just above the neck.
