Our exclusive Bridal Market coverage continues with our private viewing of couture designer Edgardo Bonilla’s latest designs. (If you missed photos from the our the Alvina Valenta and Matthew Christopher runway shows, click here.) In this collection, Bonilla’s inspiration was light – and this lightness was evident in each and every gown he created. We saw lots of geometric lines and bursts of sparkle to represent “light.” Take special note of the placement of these special features; it’s atypical and an art all its own. Edgardo has always been our King of Ball Gowns, and this collection absolutely lives up to his title. Enjoy these exclusive images from the runway show. Join us in store to meet Edgardo himself during our Edgardo Bonilla Trunk Show December 12-14, 2014. Directly below is a photo of the designer with Lovella’s Nayri and Angie. We’re rolling out exclusive Bridal Market coverage beginning with Ines Di Santo’s exquisite runway show. This collection was truly her best yet! This fresh, fashionable and fabulous Fall/Winter 2015 Couture Collection is inspired by the purity of winter. From the designer’s official statement about the designs: “Lace appliques, pearl detailing and architectural beading create depth while underlays in embroidered tulle, organza and English netting build volume among Peau De Soie and double-faced silk gowns. The color palate ranges from ethereal white and ivory to cameo pink, champagne and petal.” Per usual, Ines showed one of the most dynamic collections we view each year. Historically and consistently, she goes from ball gowns to slinky sexy silhouettes. She integrated many geometric designs and embroideries in this collection. Our ultimate favorite trend on this runway was the over skirts! We absolutely love the dynamic use and added level of drama a detachable skirt creates for […]
Israeli label Berta, head designed by Berta herself, will enjoy its first-ever trunk show in Los Angeles… and it will be here at Lovella Bridal July 11-14! A Berta design is for the bride with impeccable taste in fashion. She loves couture and luxurious details. She fancies the finer things, is confident and not afraid to (appropriately) show some skin, and is quite possibly well-traveled. Even if you’re not all of those things, you transform once you don a Berta gown. Though being a bride is about accentuating personal style, it’s also about putting on one amazing show. We hope you join us this weekend! Thanks to popular demand, the trunk show begins Wednesday, July 9 and is by appointment only; secure your spot to select your dream bridal gown today: (818) 246-4637. Below, enjoy images of real Berta brides as sourced from Berta’s official Facebook page. Reut from Israel: […]
As noted in our last post, in 2013 we attended both semi-annual bridal fashion weeks in New York City. This time around, however, we took a pass — but admired from afar. We shared photos from Ines Di Santo’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection, and this time we again consulted The Knot, with photos by Kurt Wilberding, to share with you the Kenneth Pool Spring 2015 Collection. Head designer Amsale Aberra’s streamlined 10-piece collection is one of great illusions, with each gown presenting an alluring front with a surprise in the back. WWD said of the collection: “Aberra targeted the sexy bride… The silhouettes were seductive, many in mermaid shapes and with daring low backs.” Described The Knot: “Stepping away from the bold, dramatic aesthetic of previous seasons, instead balancing form-fitting shapes and daring low backs with romantic touches.” We’ve also squeezed in a few Instagram-captured runway images; credits are below each […]
