Wrapped Up in Tulle

Words that tulle brings to mind: sweet, heavenly, feminine. Tulle is a lightweight, fine netting that got its name from a city in southern France. As much for fashion fantasy as it is for practical accents, tulle naturally has a special place in the wedding world. We spied it heavily on the runways for the Spring 2012 collections, layered on ball gowns at Ines Di Santo and Lazaro and wrapped so effortlessly around the arms of models at Kenneth Pool and Rivini. And tulle isn’t limited to apparel. To linens it aids to create a sweet and texturized element. Placed overhead at a reception or dinner party it adds volume at an affordable cost, and to accessories it alludes to a certain playfulness. Tulle a little too perfect for you?
