Bridal Market: Rivini Runway Show

Our exclusive Bridal Market coverage continues with lovely Rivini. (If you missed our photos from Ines Di Santo’s runway show, click here.) This collection is best described as “effortless chic.” The pieces we saw on the runway were soft, romantic, and whimsical with a sexy edge. Our favorite element was the use of detachable skirts; these pieces are so dynamic, and they have the ability to personalize a wedding day ensemble. It’s no surprise that they’re a big trend this season. Too, we love that they are sold separately and can be added to any Rivini design! The official statement for the Fall 2015 Collection, from Rivini’s head designer Rita Vinieris: For Fall 2015, I wanted to explore the concept of “Soft Seduction.” I took all of my favorite go-to-items… a sweatshirt, an oversized tunic, a sexy bustier and a simple t-shirt and created some untraditional interpretations. I also explored options […]

Bridal Market: Ines Di Santo Runway Show + View at Lovella

We’re rolling out exclusive Bridal Market coverage beginning with Ines Di Santo’s exquisite runway show. This collection was truly her best yet! This fresh, fashionable and fabulous Fall/Winter 2015 Couture Collection is inspired by the purity of winter. From the designer’s official statement about the designs: “Lace appliques, pearl detailing and architectural beading create depth while underlays in embroidered tulle, organza and English netting build volume among Peau De Soie and double-faced silk gowns. The color palate ranges from ethereal white and ivory to cameo pink, champagne and petal.” Per usual, Ines showed one of the most dynamic collections we view each year. Historically and consistently, she goes from ball gowns to slinky sexy silhouettes. She integrated many geometric designs and embroideries in this collection. Our ultimate favorite trend on this runway was the over skirts! We absolutely love the dynamic use and added level of drama a detachable skirt creates for […]

Runway Show: Rivini Spring 2015 Collection

Last year we attended both semi-annual bridal markets. Last month, however, we took a pass — but admired from afar. Well, Rita Vinieris has done it again. Rivini’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection has what’s to be expected of the label: fantasy, romance and elegance. Described The Knot of the collection: “[The] line of wedding dresses plays with negative space to evoke a timeless, yet modern style. Rita Vinieris’ classic feminine silhouettes were given an update with modern prints, leather accents and subtle, revealing lace panels.” In other words, there’s a lot of dreaminess here. Floating, flowing and glistening fabrics met with regal designs, details and textures. Plunging necklines, structural bodices and touches of leather sprinkle this collection. It’s fabulous. Below, enjoy the latest gowns as plucked from The Knot and captured by Kurt Wilberding. You’ll also see select social media images intermixed; all Instagram photos are via Rita Vinieris’ official account […]

Exclusive Interview with Matthew Christopher, Newest Lovella Addition

On the eve of our Matthew Christopher Trunk Show weekend, we feel it only appropriate to share an exclusive treat with you all: an interview with the bridal gown designer himself, Matthew Christopher (Sobaski)! Lovella recently acquired a number of styles from Christopher’s Spring 2014 Collection, which is nothing short of marvelous. We are thrilled to offer these sophisticated styles to the Lovella Bride. Continue on to read how growing up in the Midwest influenced Christopher’s career, why he appears in his own advertisements, and of course, what inspired his latest collection. Enjoy! LB: Only a handful of fashion designers hail from the Midwest. How has your upbringing influenced your art? MATTHEW CHRISTOPHER: My upbringing has taught me to have a hard work ethic and it gave me an imagination to become something that people never thought you could become because I grew up in the middle of a cornfield. I always had an eye for gowns and gown […]
