Bridal Market: Kenneth Pool Runway Show

Our exclusive Bridal Market coverage continues today with Kenneth Pool’s runway show. (If you missed photos from the our Mira Zwillinger or Maria Elena Headpieces private viewings, click here.) The Kenneth Pool Fall 2015 Collection is a combination of ethereal glamour and art deco style. It has traditional and sexy elements throughout, and we love the unique use of sequenced patterned fabrics infused with traditional laces with tulle. The runway show was a real treat! Enjoy these exclusive images. Stay tuned for images from our private viewing of this same collection, where we’ll showcase more gowns from more angles.

Liancarlo Spring 2015 Collection

We had the pleasure of hosting Liancarlo designer Carlos Ramirez at Lovella Bridal this past weekend during a trunk show. Needless to say, we’ve had Liancarlo on our minds lately! The designer’s latest collection is one of fantasy but practicality. Features like artfully placed tulle, modern lace, his trademark appliqués, and sweetheart bodices grace gowns with intricate embroidery that adds extraordinary dimension to each. Ethereal and romantic are key adjectives of this collection. The Knot summed it up quite well, stating the line “is proof that classic doesn’t have to mean boring.” If you love what you see, contact us: 818-246-4637. In the meantime, enjoy browsing the expertly-crafted pieces that make up Ramirez’s exquisite Spring 2015 Collection.

Bridesmaid Trend: Tulle Dresses

Did you know our new salon features a bridesmaids lounge? It’s located upstairs, and we must admit – it’s fabulous! (Photos below.) That said, we’ve had more and more brides opting for tulle dresses for their bridesmaids. There’s no better time than spring and summertime to incorporate this light, heavenly fabric into your wedding fashion lineup. We’ve reported on tulle before and offered this description: “Lightweight, fine netting that got its name from a city in southern France. As much for fashion fantasy as it is for practical accents, tulle naturally has a special place in the wedding world.” Designer Amsale Aberra agrees. When probed for her favorite fabric in an exclusive interview with Lovella, her response? Tulle. “It’s very versatile… Tulle is a fantasy fabric; I use it for fabric manipulation and to create a fantastical look of airy and lightweight…” We carry Amsale and Wtoo dresses that feature […]

Bridal Fashion Week Fall 2013: Ines Di Santo Private Viewing, Pt. 1

Welcome back as we share our whirlwind journey of bridal market, the biannual fashion week event in New York City. First we shared our viewing of the latest from Maria Elena, like pieces infused with opal and tulle and a “something blue” mink clutch. Now we move on to our private viewing of the Fall 2014 Couture Collection by Toronto-based designer Ines Di Santo, a Lovella favorite. Said Lovella Bridal wedding fashion expert and stylist Nayri of the collection: “Per usual, her collection is extremely dynamic. There is truly something here for every style bride. From light-as-a-feather soft and romantic gowns to slinky/sexy form-fitted looks to a dramatic embroidered ball gown, you name it—she has it. And boy, oh boy, she never disappoints!” Something particularly special from the collection is a lace dress with purple underlay (pictured below). Any color may be placed beneath the dress, which will ever so […]

Bridal Fashion Week Fall 2013: Maria Elena Headpieces Private Viewing

It’s that time of year again: bridal fashion week, take two! Last April, Lovella packed up for a weekend in New York City to scout the latest collections for the latest and greatest in bridal dresses and accessories. This time around, it was much of the same: Quick traveling from appointment to runway show and vice versa, delight over the newest offerings and innovation in design, and absolute giddiness over selecting the cream of the crop to offer Southern California brides. In viewing the latest from Maria Elena Headpieces, we had free reign to “ooh” and “ahh” in private over headbands, clutches, headpieces and assorted jewelry. Brighter pieces resulted from opal and texture and depth of tulle, two items heavily incorporated in this season’s collection. We can’t wait to pair these new accessories with lace and tulle gowns from our salon! We also saw rose and yellow gold in this […]
